In a continued effort to strengthen collaboration among FAO regional desert locust control commissions, the Commission in the Central Region has announced the organization of an inter-regional workshop titled "Planning for Desert Locust Outbreak Response." The event will bring together representatives from member countries of all regional commissions (CRC - SWAC - CLCPRO).
The primary focus of the workshop will be to review and enhance emergency, national, and regional response plans to combat desert locust crises. The goal is to better equip member states with the knowledge and strategies needed to effectively address any potential locust outbreaks.
The workshop is set to take place in Salalah, Sultanate of Oman, from September 7 to 11, 2025.
