Desert locust survey was not conducted in Eritrea during the month, but Scouts and  local farmers reported that Small swarmlet detected migrating towards the borders of some areas of the Southern region, Anseba region and western lowlands of the country from Ethiopia in the mid month. There is high probability of additional swarms migration from spring breeding sites of neighboring countries towards the summer breeding in the forecast period as it started to rain and the situation becomes favorable for the locust survival.
