EGYPT, July 2020
Desert locust situation continued to be calm in June. Surveys were conducted in South Eastern Egypt at Abu Ramad, Shalateen, Hamata, Baraneice, Abraq, El Sheikh El Shazly and Abu Simbel, covering a total survey area of 4130 ha. No locusts were seen in all surveyed areas. Total area surveyed 4094 ha. Ecological conditions were un-favourable for locust breeding in southeast Egypt where the vegetation cover was dry at most of the surveyed areas with low to high densities and soil was dry in most survey sites.
