Applied Research

The Commission is supporting research and encourages member countries to devolve research in the field of Desert Locust, particularly, in biological control to develop less toxic methods and minimize negative impact resulting from the use of conventional chemical pesticides. The Commission is supporting postgraduate study, MSc. fellowship at Nottingham University, UK having started and in progress 2015/2016. In addition, agreement has been signed with Faculty of Agriculture, Khartoum University to support PhD fellowship of utility Desert Locust for human consumption and animal feed.
